Repairs are the enquiries that arrive most often and are hardest to price without seeing the roof. Homeowners still want a rough idea before they ring. Firstprice shows them a guide range from your own repair bands and sends you the enquiry, so small jobs don’t all need a visit just to give a ballpark.

What the homeowner does

  1. Chooses a repair.
  2. Says what kind: a leak, a small covering repair such as slipped or broken tiles, or flashing around a chimney or wall. If they’re not sure, the enquiry comes to you for a review instead of a guessed figure.
  3. Types what they can see in plain words.

They see your typical band for that kind of repair, worded as a guide that a look at the roof confirms, with hidden damage and major work excluded.

An example

With example bands of £150 to £450 for a leak assessment and minor repair, and £250 to £700 for a minor flashing repair, a homeowner with a damp patch by the chimney sees the band that fits. Your own bands replace these.

What you receive

The homeowner’s name and contact details, the type of repair, the roof type, their description and the band they were shown. That’s usually enough to decide whether it’s a quick visit or a bigger job.

When a repair is really a replacement

Some repair enquiries are roofs at the end of their life. When the homeowner chooses a replacement instead, the estimate switches to your rates per m², so they can compare patching it with doing it properly. See the roof replacement quote calculator and the flat roof quote calculator.

Where it goes

On your roof repairs page, or as a “Get an instant quote” button next to your contact button. It works on WordPress, Wix, Squarespace and most other website builders. See how it goes on your site.
